bandThe Bayside Intermediate Band recently competed in the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Band process where they were named second runner up (3rd place) in the state of Texas!

"This is a very exciting time for our students and community," said Kyle Mapp, Director of Bands at Bayside Intermediate. "We are so very proud of our students and thankful that we had an opportunity to represent our community and Clear Creek ISD in this competition."

The Texas Music Educators Association sponsors Honor Band competitions for school in CC classification every two years. Bands across Texas choose to submit recordings of prepared musical selections to be judged at region, area, and state competitions. At each level, a five-judge panel hears the recordings without knowing the school and ranks them. At the region, and area level the top two bands advance to the next level, culminating in the state competition where the highest ranked school is named Honor Band for that year. The chosen Honor Band performs at the next Texas Music Educators convention held in San Antonio.

The Bayside Band joins some of the most elite band programs in the state of Texas as a state finalist in the CC classification, and will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana, in March to perform at the National Concert Band Festival.
The Bayside Band stands out, continuing a long tradition of musical success in Clear Creek ISD.
